CivitasPoint
Privacy Policy
This notice is being finalized for launch and is not a claim that newsletter services are already operating.
Current website
Articles are freely accessible. The email signup shown here is disabled; it does not collect or send addresses. The hosting and WordPress systems may process technical access information and authentication cookies.
Planned email subscription
The free CivitasPoint Brief will ask for an email address and use a confirmed opt-in process. Subscribers will be able to unsubscribe through each email. The selected email provider, sender identity, retention practices, and contact details must be added before collection begins.
Before launch
Confirm the publisher’s identity and contact, actual hosting and email services, analytics and cookies in use, applicable reader rights, retention practices, and any international processing. Optional analytics and article feedback are described below.
Article feedback
When you use the voting buttons, a minimal first-party cookie (cp_vote_browser) remembers one current vote per article in this browser for up to one year. It is not created just to read an article. This requested vote-management storage is independent of optional Analytics; voting works after Reject optional. Clearing cookies or using another browser creates a different identifier and does not establish one vote per person.
The voting plugin stores a keyed hash of the browser identifier, article ID, direction, revision and timestamps. Removed votes stop counting immediately; their revision records are deleted after 30 days. Active votes remain until removed or the publisher deletes them. Short-lived rotating keyed hashes of network addresses limit bursts; the voting plugin does not store raw IP addresses. Clearing the cookie alone does not delete existing anonymous vote rows.
Optional Google Analytics and consent
Google Analytics (G-MRJFF92GYE) loads only after explicit Analytics permission through our cookie controls. It measures pageviews and engagement and observes successful vote changes with article ID, slug, action and direction. No browser voting identifier or request-validation token is sent to Google, and pre-consent votes are not replayed after permission. Advertising integrations and personalization are disabled; logged-in users and staging are excluded.
Use Cookie settings in the footer to reject, customize or withdraw permission. Withdrawal stops future tracking, removes first-party Analytics cookies accessible to this site and reloads the page to unload optional code. Already transmitted or in-flight requests cannot be recalled; previously collected Google data is not automatically deleted. Consent choices are stored locally for 180 days with a policy version; a material purpose change or expiration requests a new choice. Global Privacy Control is treated as a refusal of optional tracking where exposed by the browser. Individual server-side consent logging and remote consent-data synchronization are disabled. See the Cookie Policy for the item-by-item inventory, categories, durations and limitations.
